Gym?

My sister frequents the gym a lot since the end of 2013 and in fact, a lot of my peers are taking up yoga classes, MMA and going to the gym. But what made me curious to know is their motives of going to the road of "healthy lifestyle". Is it, really?

I asked my sister a few minutes ago, what was her motive in going to the gym? And I gave her options to choose:

1. To lose weight?
2. To feel sexy and good about your body? OR
3. To be healthy

Her answer: To have a toned body (Which in this case I assume she opt for option number 2!)

Honestly speaking, I do feel like a lot of people go to the gym to look good. But do they also prioritize being healthy as one of the factor to having a nicely toned body? I don't know. I'm not blogging this out and publicizing it to dis on people who goes to the gym, because to be honest, I don't! I'm just curious because the number people taking up this "sport" is rapidly hiking! It's like a trend now. That is why I'm doubting their main motives.

I believe in being healthy as in, not being in a weak state. I believe in being acceptably skinny as in to eat in moderation. Yes, sometimes I do feel like I should get my arms toned so that it will look good for other people. But, you know, I believe that loving your body how ever it looks like is the best kind of gym ever. Other than that, confidence is key. Over-confident is tasteless and atrocious.
